Are you feeling misunderstood, alone, or isolated even though you are in a relationship?

Have you thought about getting a divorce or separation even though it is not something that you want?

Do you find yourself arguing more about the same issues and getting nowhere?

Do you feel you are walking on eggshells or even scared around your partner? Or are you living in an atmosphere of icy coldness where silence often resides?

Have you been in a long-term relationship that ended in heartbreak and despair
and wondered why it didn't work out?

Are you wanting to be in a relationship but finding
that you are afraid to persue it
beyond the initial stages?

Do you find yourself committing too quickly and clinging too tightly, alienating your partner in the process
and making yourself overly dependent on the relationship?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, research suggests that relationship counseling can benefit you.

As your Imago therapist, I will help you understand how your brain and mind work in relationship. This will help you understand anger, sadness, fear, and hopelessness as well as joy, gratitude, and pleasure.

I will help you form a more conscious, close, and healthy relationship.

What I Do

My specialties include relationships, life transitions (couples, individuals, and other groups that are significant and in conflict), and Fibromyalgia treatment.

sep

As an Imago Therapist, I specialize in treating individuals and couples. I have expertise in treating persons who are going through divorce, experiencing grief and loss, and struggling with step-family challenges.

sep

I also treat persons with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) which results from severe relational trauma.

sep

I consider my job as your therapist to be someone who can help you "read the map to discovery while you drive the car", training you to be the therapist(s) for yourself.

sep

I believe that people have tools inside them to help with healing and growth. As your therapist, I will encourage you to grow within yourself and stop using defensiveness, restore safety and close connection which can lead to greater intimacy and a relationship wherein you can be yourself and which can enable you to build the relationship "of your dreams".

How I Work

Imago Relationship Theory permeates my work with all persons and all relationships.

sep

Imago treatment addresses the relationship dysfunction by examining the roots of the emotional pain that each person is experiencing, and focuses on changing the relationship, or the "in-between" space in a manner that promotes healthy connection and communication.

sep

Neuro-scientific approach indicates that talk therapy alone is not as effective as talk therapy combined with energy psychology, such as Clinical Hypnosis, EMDR, Tapping (EFT), and Mindfulness Meditation.

sep

I intersperse these types of interventions throughout sessions and select the appropriate energy intervention which can add relief and make your therapeutic experience more effective and may also shorten the length of time you need to spend in therapy.

Pomegranate Tree

My choice of logo is not accidental. Pomegranate has manifold meanings in mythology, religion, and art. It is often refered to as a symbol of life, prosperity, marriage, and rebirth, and its seeds are seen as the reflection of inner complexity and multifacetedness.

sep

A pomegranate tree is an evergreen. It bears fruit in autumn, but it retains green leaves throughout the year. Our life, our relationships, our very essense are ever-changing, and however frightening and troublesome these fluctuations may feel at times, I'd like you to see them as part of the continual cycle of growth and renewal.

sep

There is a traditional ending of many Armenian folk tales that reflects the benefits of an open and therapeutic dialogue: “Three pomegranates fell down from heaven: One for the story teller, one for the listener, and one for the whole world.”  An open and therapeutic dialogue, whether it is between you and your therapist, or you and your partner, can benefit not only its participants but also the people who surround us. In Imago, we strive to change the world, one relationship at a time.
